Adopting and Embracing Technologies in the Management of Higher Education for Sustainable Development in Modern Africa

Abstract
Education by nature is a dynamic, adaptive and embracing process. Normally, it is sensitive to and responsive to emerging issues in the society. Among the emerging issues in modern society are the technological developments that have taken modern world by storm!. The development of initiation in modern education has the potential to initiate, generate, and facilitate the design and administration of desired creativity and innovations, serving as the software for promoting sustainable development in the modern world. Generally, the design and administration of technology is appropriate in institutions of Higher education since these institutions have capacity. This is so because both the teachers and learners in this level of education are subjected to the skills of critical thinking, concept formation and creative operation which are the basis of initiating technology. Consequently, higher education is the main basis for developing technology for sustainable development in modern world and specifically in Africa. The four aspects are the nature of technology needed for initiating development in modern world and especially in Africa, the importance of the designed, developed, adopted and embraced technology to facilitate the envisaged development in modern world; the challenges of designing developing, adopting and embracing the preferred technology in modern higher education to accelerate development in modern world and preferred strategies needed to design, develop, adopt and embrace the right type. technology to facilitate sustainable development in modern world and especially Africa.
